Ties up a Deep Water Port for a month minimum. That’ll cause economic problems any way you slice it.
Deep Water Ports don’t grow on trees. There’s only so many capable of handling Large Freighters and by extension Navy ships. Delays in freight shipments even if it’s just a week or two while they go to other East Coast Ports. Will have knock on cascading Economic effects.
Not to mention a Deepwater Port being closed is one less place for Navy/Military Ships to potentially be based out of/refuel
