This only makes sense if Trump was never President. The article disregards that President Trump and his core team out maneuvered the DS throughout his first term. The DS cannot afford for them to hold the reins of power again.

It also disregards that President Trump just closed the deal on a MAGA takeover of the RNC. If they “let” President Trump win, they will also be “letting” MAGA majorities taking control of both Houses of Congress.

Finally, for now, if the DS plan was to let President Trump win, they would not be waging relentless lawfare against him.
