*my personal thought is that the porn site should be required to ID their patrons, much like an online wine shop. This would of course only apply to said porn site since they distribute "adult-only materials"
This ties into the internet bill of rights topic. If the internet is designated as the public square, websites would be considered shops on that square. To get into a strip club, you show ID. To get into a coffee shop you don't. Imo pretty simple
Edit- and to combat distribution of porn OUTSIDE of the porn sites, its distribution could be criminalized. "but muh free speech!" - you cannot strip or have sex in public, only in the establishments where that is allowed. It should be no different in DIGITAL public.
...but neocons and globohomo will come up with the most tyrannical BULLSHIT methods to combat this problem when it is SIMPLE if you treat the internet as the digital public.
Do you know I hadn't thought of it that way and actually it's a logical principle.
Although I would still heavily come down on the defaults of:
A) Why don't parental shields actually work, and if not why can't they be made to be, and
B) 'This is the modern world and kids need their own phone' etc is NO excuse for parents not knowing what they are doing and attempting to control it.

Yes. I can’t believe that someone hasn’t come up with excellent parental controls for the computer and the phone.
if you want to watch porn then you have to show an ID
if you don't want to show your ID then find another avenue to watch pornography
pretty simple
