I'm not sure of the year but as a child there was a huge hatching. Every tree had hundreds of shells stuck to them. At night the singing was so loud. It has not been like that around here since.

This also caused a huge cicada killer hatching. Might have been the next year on that. I was so young hard to remember exactly when.
