I feel like the ending for them is the same, with or without a deal. The "deal" is they get to live a little longer if they go along with their movie script. And also consider this: they may not realize they are in a deal. Their puppet masters might be the ones that have made the deal and are telling them what to say and when to say it (as commanded by white hats). They're just going along like good little servants, digging their own graves.
