I have always seen the Matrix as just a silly action movie for edgelords. Surface level it is pretty cringe.
I like action movies. i grew up watching all of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Van Damme's movies. Arnie and Sly too. I never liked the Matrix. Never liked Keanu either. I was around 14 when it came out so I was like the prime target...still did not like it.
Also when we first got together my wife worked at a mall that I'd go to during her shifts to keep her company as well as I could, and there was an outdated Cadillac display that ran a commercial for the Matrix Revolutions the entire day. This was several years after the movie came out...
So it may be comms, but I do not think you could even pay me to watch it.
I have watched this movie fully at least 3 times. The most recent being just a couple years ago. I am always amazed how insightful this movie is, and each time I watch I notice something new!
