. . . and remember, Juliet is supposed to be so beautiful and lovely a girl that Romeo can't stand to live without her. That makes this twice as funny! π€£
In response to your question "thinking that there is a sleeper White Hat writer trying to wake people up"...I, actually do think this on a daily basis these days.
Everything is just too absurd to not think that much of it is written to "jar" people to wake up.
Yes, they really were, especially for the time. The actress Olivia Hussey was only 15 and the actor playing Romeo was only 16 in real life. (No 25-year-olds playing the parts of young teens like today).
Olivia needed no makeup and was as fresh and beautiful as one could find at that time, in my estimation.
Nooooooo! Hahahaha is this for reeeal?! ππ
Its totally real! π

I looked it up, because of the screen shot above. In every shot of this actress playing Juliet, I see a more masculine face than feminine. Sad.
Well, she is a lesbian, and appears to have strong masculine expressions and energy and (at least in photos) has a mustache.

I remember seeing this 1968 movie, probably at a later date than when it came out, and thinking the actors were very good looking.

Here's another photo of them:

So true...both were just fresh faced and very good looking for their ages. Not many at 15 or 16 can look this good going through puberty.
I probably saw it sometime in the 70's (not when it was filmed in the 60's) and I do remember it made an impression on me.
