This is not hard.
I will forgive under the following conditions:
They have to ask to be forgiven.
They have to confess what their side did, without excuses.
They have to promise to change.
They have to be sincere.
Those are the rules God set down. Right?
You have it backwards. Those are the rules God set down for a person to repent and be worthy of RECEIVING forgiveness. They have absolutely nothing to do with you or I GIVING forgiveness. We are told to forgive unconditionally.
My understanding is that we are to emulate Jesus. Didn’t he say, after forgiving sin to go forward and sin no more?
No. Again, you have everything backwards. Jesus said that after BEING FORGIVEN the SINNER (in this conversation, the person who took the vax) should go forward and sin no more. His teachings for the person who is doing the forgiving (in this conversation you and I and all other people who refused the vax and may have been wronged as a result) is to forgive unconditionally.
I respectfully disagree. If someone is not sincere or even recognizing they need forgiveness then there is no personal responsibility.
Without that there is no repentance and the person will repeat the bad behavior and probably worse the next time.
Actions must have consequences. Just like sin.
