Maybe it's the European in me speaking but every single full time job needs to pay a living wage, a life for a life. If the employer can't afford to pay a living wage, that means there's not enough demand, that job doesn't need doing after all, they should close up shop and everyone involved should find something more useful to do.
Historically, increasing the minimum wage has always resulted in the same thing: employers complain and threaten to leave, then grudgingly pay up because leaving is more expensive than slightly reduced profits, and the entire working class's living standards improve as the higher pay trickles up to more complicated jobs. More purchasing power stimulates the economy and everyone is better off.
A liveable wage changes from area to area though, which is also dumb to an extent though not to the fault of the employers.
Even buying a tiny home nowadays has gotten grotesque, and with the way property theft works you can't just buy a home and improve on it if you don't have the means to pay the increased property theft.
Taxation is theft. Everyone would be better off without it, and there are better ways to pay for roads -- not least of all is doing more than the barest minimum that breaks before it's even freaking cured.
I am not a big fan of the tiny homes stuff, but I think it's great for people who are.
Sadly though, land is extremely expensive even for run down and old properties which used to be a pretty solid investment if you were willing to build your own, as the generation of family before me did on several occasions.
why not pay $1,000,000 per hour minimum wage?
Why not pay them $0.01 an hour for 100 hour weeks since age 10 like in the 19th century? Better yet, pay them in company scrip that they can only spend in the company store. Just think how cheap the burgers would be! That's what no regulation leads to.
projection!
classic. I asked you a simple question and you responded with a paragraph and never answered it.
want to try again?
BTW I'm pretty sure they're weren't any fast food places in the 19th century
What you did is called a straw man fallacy. Want to try an actual argument?
The correct minimum wage is $0. There are people who are simply not worth $20/hour and never will be. Those people need work too. Teenagers who haven't even learned to show up on time need that first job to acquire skills that might earn them more money. You are pricing the low skilled out of the job market.
Which is to say, slavery.
We have the same cabal running things so they always bake in slavery. We can’t win without a divine intervention in our economy. I think that the free market will work very well in the future for wages like this but we need the cabal out and people under the fear of the Lord instead of being controlled by greed. Then we can truly be free and maybe we find another way to not need these jobs and AI replaces them and they go to college and get a nice paying job instead. People have to start somewhere but the slavery is not allowing them to advance and keeping them there most of their life at minimum wage.
Ain't that the Truth! Shit is the automatic byproduct of all totalitarian regimes in history. The current regime is turning this Country into the shithole Venezuela.
Incorrect. Increasing the minimum wage takes purchasing power away from higher paying jobs until everyone is equally poor except for those at the top— the investment bankers whom our money ends up trickling upwards towards. They don't eat the reduced profit, are you retarded? They just jack up the prices on everything. Just like what's happening right now.
