They demonized lead paint in an era when people were sleeping on radio receivers.
Notice the small coils that serve no structural purpose.
We don't need those anymore because people carry transmitters in their pockets and go to sleep with them by their beds.
kindof tangential to the fact that led is poisonous tho
Poisonous if eaten.
My laundry room is full of bottles and cans of things that are poisonous. I don't think the paint on the walls is more dangerous than those things are.
I don't drink from those cans and bottles and I make a hell of an effort to avoid licking my walls as tempting as it may be.
Are the pipes in you house walls old copper pipes with lead solder or PVC plastic pipes? By not drinking out of plastic bottles is admirable, but the only way to get around the contamination is to purchase bottle water in a glass. Then, how are you going to bathe? Heck, even if you have glass pipes in your house,......does the local water supply company have metal pipes, PVC, or PEX? My local water company has 2" pipes, some are metal, some are PVC. I know for a fact that the metal pipes have screw fittings, no soldering involved so that is comforting. What kills me is the PEX pipe in my walls.
Have you ever been to a small lake or a pond that has a ridiculous amount of frogs? Do you remember that smell?
For some reason I can tell when a house has PEX because that's what the water smells like to me. Like a slimy, putrid, frog-infested standing water.
I don't have glass pipes in my house but I'm willing to bet a handful of pesos that my neighbor's son has some glass pipes in his room.
I have come to terms long ago that being alive may be hazardous to my health.
lead is a soft metal that disintegrates easily. touching it leaves a toxic residue on your skin.
so, there's that.
