Never have I seen such fearmongering bullshit about a natural, cyclic astronomical event. Does the MSM seriously think a solar eclipse has never happened before?
I looked up the definition of eclipse per the American Heritage Dictionary:
noun
1)The partial or complete obscuring, relative to a designated observer, of one celestial body by another.
2)The period of time during which such an obscuration occurs.
3)A temporary or permanent dimming or cutting off of light.
4)A fall into obscurity or disuse; a decline.
**5)A disgraceful or humiliating end; a downfall.
**
"Revelations of wrongdoing helped bring about the eclipse of the governor's career."
transitive verb
To cause an eclipse of.
I was thinking more of the verb - one eclipses something or someone else, outshines, etc. But the 5th noun definition was interesting as well. Why all the panic for a natural event?
