The hubris you people speak with is galling. It's as though you believe you have some exclusive ownership on righteousness.
"Stop killing children. Easy."
It's incredibly easy to prophesize to the converted. You risk nothing, you accomplish nothing. If it was so easy, you would have accomplished your goal via platitudes. What have you accomplished so far, Cyberhawk? In my lifetime, I've convinced at least three women to not get an abortion and then a fourth whose baby my wife and I eventually adopted.
I've donated my time for free for 15 years to the largest pro-life organization in my state. During that time I've met with and continue to meet with state leaders to keep moving the needle in my state.
What have you accomplished beyond self-aggrandization?
Now if you don't mind, the rest of us will get to work on actually doing something about the problem. When the day arrives that we fix it, no need to thank us.
So now we’re counting the things that WE have done? The only things I’ve accomplished are the things God allowed me to. Everything and anything I’ve done or have ever done is pointless to myself. I want to be a servant to God. I owe Jesus everything. I am, I feel, a poor servant. That’s on me. I don’t count the one or two or ten that may have or may not have been helped to anything I’ve done. It’s all what God has done for them. That’s the problem, people want their credit. Thank you? That’s funny. Don’t worry about that. You wouldn’t even be breathing a few seconds after reading this sentence if God didn’t allow it. You want to compare a “do good” list? Well you win. Anything good I am allowed to be part of is all for Him who saved me. It’s all Him. I want nothing for myself anymore. I hope you look to Jesus for aid in helping others tho. And i’m thankful you have knowingly succeeded in helping others. I just thank God I found Jesus a few years ago. He saved me and my family. Forever. God is amazing.
"Everything and anything I’ve done or have ever done is pointless to myself".
It's about what you can do for others. That's never pointless.
"You want to compare a “do good” list? Well you win."
Of course "I win", you seem to be content with espousing platitudes and scripture as though that's enough on its own. It's not. God gave us the wonderful tools of our bodies and of free will to actually do something to make the world better. Give it a try.
You missed the point entirely. I don’t do things for self credit. That’s why you want to compare. You do. And that’s why you win. Because I won’t. Who knows who I have helped, or how many. You work, volunteer, donate, etc, etc. The person that lead me to Christ doesn’t even know they did. I hope to express it to them one day. The man who helped with my baptism, he helps people daily, he doesn’t keep count. Stop with what YOU have done and what YOU accomplished. It’s not about YOU. The only reason YOU woke up this morning, that’s who it’s for. For our Father in Heaven. Our savior. It’s all for Him. Nothing for myself.
You gotta stop with this drivel and this rationalizing your not doing anything. At the very least direct it somewhere else. And please don't join any GOP strategy groups.
People are God's creatures. If you want to do something for Him, help your fellow man.
