Trump is working on stitching the country together. States all prohibit murder, but they all have different definitions and consequences for different circumstances (premeditated, in anger, justifiable homicide, self-defense, etc.). We all agree that murder is wrong, but somehow have no problem with the many differences in state law. This is true of rape as well, even though we all agree conceptually that rape is wrong.
Centralizing the power and the laws is the antithesis of our republican system. The many other changes happening to allow truth to spread without controlled and biased media will go a long way towards better choices.
