Speed of thought comes from how much a person practices at learning something.
How many angles are they coming at a problem from?
For Example:
A person that learns what’s the square root of 9.
If they remember 3 because the school system tells them it is 3.
That’s not really understanding the deeper meaning of why it’s 3.
Which will affect the speed of how someone can think about roots.
If someone is slow at information recall:
That’s because their brain isn’t sure.
Which means they have not spent enough time on learning a subject.
Not everyone cares about a subject the same:
That’s the issue.
Person A might only care to memorize the answer without caring deeply of why.
Person B might be more energetic and engaged in the subject and spend more time and effort going deeper into answer. Which will make them faster at answering questions about the subject.
But let’s say 5 years down the road.
Person A now discovers a new found passion for the subject.
Which causes them to engage deeper into the subject.
They also will gain speed of information recall because their brains are now more engaged into the subject.
IQ cannot account for the emotional part of learning. Such as.. how much does someone care to engage into the subject:
I use to hate higher math in high school.
Now that I am into my 40’s.
I have discovered a new passion for it.
I am now faster and better at answering math problems because I care to spend a lot of time going through the material.
IQ is a useless stat.
AI doesn't have an IQ.
It learns by following a
"Try -> Fail -> Adjust -> Try Again" method.
If I took an IQ test and it told me I was an idiot. I should be allowed to work with a coach to tell me what and why I got things wrong.
Then I should be allowed to keep taking the test over and over again.
What I am referring to is using the IQ is a bad way of looking at Intelligence overall.
It does not account for learning from failure and trying again over and over.
