One of my sons and his girlfriend recently adopted a beagle puppy. They're raising him like they saw me raise my dogs, home cooked meals, all natural etc etc. They've done their research and I was just telling him yesterday that just like we have citizen journalists these days, I'd trust citizen vets over what any of the "experts" say to do with dogs.
One reason I won't have any more dogs: vets are as bad as doctors now - no real healing, just pushing products. And endless boosters.
I legit didn't know I was supposed to "register" my dogs. I think that means getting rabies shots every year, I still don't know. But I had 4 dogs and the last one died last year at 19 1/2 years old. I just told my vet that I didn't want to give them rabies shots every year and that was the end of that. They never pressured me. I used a small mom & pop vet
I stopped all annual boosters when I noticed my dog went downhill after each one. All pushed by fearporn for $£$.
