Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
A good customer of mine became vegetarian/vegan 3 years ago and since then I had a bad feeling he was going down the wrong road of misinformation but I dared not say a word and just uttered "cool". And then the jab came out and he took a couple of those. Fast forward to 2023, he found out he got stage 4 gastric cancer. Today I found out from his wife he died last Sunday. How truly awful. I just know deep down he didn't have to die. He could be a healthy guy today if he had just done the keto or lion diet instead of vegetables, and if he didn't get the jab!
But who was I to open my mouth to a customer and correct his diet, right? They all get mad or feel offended when one insults their diet/lifestyle. I could also lose his business and it just wasn't my place to say anything. But if I did, would e have listened? Could I have save a life? I didn't think there was a chance he would listen in the 1st place since he lost a lot of weight after becoming vegetarian/vegan. I just wanted to vent on here. Has anyone experienced this, feeling of regret maybe you should have said something but it just wasn't the right place/situation?
Unfortunately for many people this is how you show them. There is nothing you could have done.
I tend to think if I know something, everyone knows it. I have learned that is very wrong. Yes, I do have regrets, so now I just speak up in a non-judgmental, non-confrontational way with something like - 'Oh, that's interesting. You know, I heard the carnivore diet was good for X and was thinking of trying it. My doctor was supportive. Do you know anything about carnivore? I was shocked to learn that everything we need is available in meat alone. Who knew? Haha.' Something like that to get them thinking. You can only give them info or at least interest them enough to check into something on their own. That's all you can do. But it could be enough.
I think we all feel like you do. My step mom and aunt and probably many more in my family are falling apart. Nothing i can do because all my family ties got broken due to mass TDS even before Novid happened. Don’t beat yourself up. Lots of us are at the “what’s the point, no one listens” stage. Others are at the “there’s no point, there’s no one to listen” stage.
Thanks...Yeah I was just shocked before.
It’s shocking every time. Lord Most High- please shelter fren Bibloop under the shelter of Your wings until these calamities passeth by. We cry to God Most High, to God who performeth all things for us. He shall send from heaven and save us from the reproach of him that would swallow us up.
He shall send forth His mercy and His Truth!
