Morphing is not the same as cloning, these were real people.
Yes, I understand the distinction. I am implying that someone that looks similar to an actual person, say Bill Clinton could easily be morphed into Bill Clinton while appearing to be saying Bill Clinton things. This would effectively be a virtual video clone.
At this time, the public tech did not appear to be able to do this realtime and it took a lot of rendering and processing time to do this sort of morphing. However, with the dramatic increase in CPU/GPU power and dramatic reductions in "rendering time" this sort of morphing can likely be done now realtime or near realtime (with slight broadcast delay). This would be a quasi continuous morph approach to change one person into another visually.
