Hell is described in Revelation as a lake of fire that burns endlessly. There is no rest day or night for those that end up there. It is constant, endless torment. Heat up the electric burner on you cook stove. Wait till it's red hot and then slam you hand on it and leave it there forever. But your hand will never burn up and the pain will never cease. That's a little taste of hell. God gives us this imagery to terrify us, so we flee from the coming wrath.
Personally, I can't understand spending eternity in torment for a finite amount of rebellion. But who am I to challenge God? I would be much more comfortable with annihilation. But there is no disputing that hell is an endless eternity of suffering.
The majority of people are going to hell including Christians that go to church every week. You are supposed to trust in God 100%. That means no tv because there is nothing on that is not considered a sin, no anything, no gluttony on food, no medicines from the doctor or operations. It means literally no nothing. No working and hoping for a pension after. Everything you do is sending you to hell. God said you cannot be half in the world and half out. Practically no one is going to heaven.
You are saved by grace not by works. All of us are dripping in sin as part of the human condition. Your best works are but dirty rags to our Holy God.
