Opines on Daniel 9:
The 70 weeks are from 457 BC to 34 AD. The last 7 years are from 27 AD to 34 AD. It's simple math. 7 (7's) + 62 (7's) + 1 (7) = 70 total weeks. There is NO missing week! It all adds up perfectly! I'm not sure why people are messing this up!
There are a few possible dates for when the 70 weeks prophecy started. I think the most likely is in Ezra ( i think) when the Persian king made a decree in 457BC - 490 years on from this would mean the 70th week finished in AD 33/34 (not quite sure as there is no year zero). The last week (7 years) likely started when Jesus was baptised in AD27 and 3 1/2 years later, literally in the midst of the week, he was crucified. For the next 3 1/2 years the gospel went out to only the Jews. Then after Stephen was stoned to death in AD34 the gospel was sent to the gentiles. Jesus predicted the destruction of the temple happening within one generation (40 years) so from AD 34 to AD 70 is less than one generation. The 70 weeks have already happened. There is NO 7 years left.
Q's: When was "sin put to an end"? What are the 7 years after the Messiah is cut off? Who was the ruler who will come? What is the covenant that lasted 7 years? When were the sacrifices cutoff? When was the Abomination of Desolation set up?
A's: read it again it doesn't say "put an end to sin" it says put an end to sacrifice and offering (NIV). Messiah was cut off (crucified) 3 1/2 years into the last week so there were only 3 1/2 years left not 7. The covenant was made with jews - remember Jesus came to the jew first and then after stephen was stoned to death it went out to gentiles. The need for sacrifice stopped with Jesus death and resurrection. The jews had 40 years to repent and change their ways but they didn't so all the sacrifices after Jesus paid the final price were abominations
Opposing: the reason the 70 weeks are not completed is beacuse, the prophecy says after the weeks is finished prophecy will be sealed and the most holy place will be anointed. Which clearly did not happen, like John received prophecy long after Jesus ascended. And there is no temple in Jerusalem that has been anointed yet.
Affirming: That verse does not say the "most holy place" will be anointed. It says the "most holy" will be anointed. That is Jesus Christ. He was anointed at His baptism in 27 AD. It lines up perfectly with the prophecy. John did receive prophecy but what does that have to do with this discussion? No temple in Jerusalem needs to be anointed. That is not part of the prophecy.
Opposing: “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place. Daniel 9:24 NIV
Affirming: The verse says "Most Holy" not "Most Holy Place". Daniel 9:7 - "To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy." The Most Holy here is Jesus Christ. You don't anoint a building or structure. Only a person. The final 7 years was from 27 AD to 34 AD. Crystal clear! Daniel 9:25 to 27 is all about Jesus. It is NOT about the antiChrist. Read those verses while thinking about Jesus and it all makes sense. Daniel 9 is all about Jesus, not the anti-Christ. The anti-Christ can not make a covenant or pact with anyone or die half way through. ONLY Jesus does this. He is crucified half way through the last 7 years. This is important because it ends with the stoning of Stephan where the gospel then went to the Gentiles.
Look up David Nikao Wilcoxson (?)- he gives very easy to understand teachings on this. You’ll see where this futuristic 70th week teaching came from- the counter reformation. (Vatican!) There is no scriptural support for a gap between the 69th and 70th week- only supposition to support their narrative. Once you understand how this all fits together (so perfectly), you’ll wonder how you ever fell for the futuristic teaching. It’s sad that this is the only foretelling of the most pivotal moment in history and people ignore it. Jesus’ baptism, His ministry and crucifixion was told to the year, yet at that time they didn’t recognize it and now because of the counter reformation’s narrative of a future 7 yr tribulation and antiChrist most Christians don’t see it either. To those who say this is a preterist view, that is incorrect. That view too was pushed by the counter reformation. (Vatican!)
Better yet look up Mark Finley and Doug Batchelor. They have the best videos on the book of Daniel and bible prophecy. (?)
"He will confirm a COVENANT with MANY for 1 week, and in the MIDDLE of the week, he will cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease" (Dan. 9v27). In the MIDDLE year of the 70th week, on the eve of the Passover, Jesus of Nazareth said, "This is my blood of the new COVENANT which for MANY is being shed unto remission of sins" (Mat. 26v28).
The veil was torn. Then in 66-70 AD Jerusalem was ransacked, and the temple was destroyed. Rome. The Jews who did not listen to Yeshua's warnings were caught in the siege. Only the ones who followed Him knew to flee for the hills as He warned them.
look at the Hebrew text because that is incorrect. The second “he” refers to another person, separate from the first person. And judging by history, it seems the second he was Tiberius Cesar who destroyed the second temple. When Jesus was in Jerusalem he said that not one stone would be left standing in the temple. A fulfillment of both his prophecy and Daniel’s.
70 always comes after 69 when counting. If God wanted us to stick a couple of thousand years in there, He wouldnt have called it 70 weeks. Jesus made the covenant in the middle of the week and caused the sacrifice to cease.
After Daniel was given the prophecy the Angels said close up the book and seal it so that none of the wicked would understand. Babylon does have its own understanding but was never meant to understand this
Why do people separate the last 1 week from the 69 .., who told you there was a pause? it is the messiah who puts an end to the daily sacrifice .., when he died on the cross he was the final lamb that would atone sins for Good.., its actually blasphemous people credit all this to the antichrist
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. --Those are the things that the Jews were commanded to do. And to make an end of (their) sins, and to make reconciliation for (their) iniquity,. If you read it in context of Daniel 9, you will see this
I would say that history itself attests to the events from Daniel’s time to the coming of the messiah, they align incredibly with known history between Daniel and the Messiah. Daniel’s book is giving the people of God the timing of the Messiah and the events that lead up to it. I would agree that the abomination of desolation spoken of by Jesus is future to him, about 40 years in the future. And the other New Testament writers allude to something coming soon that those Christians need to watch for and prepare for. The interpretations of Daniel’s vision are in the book itself. Another prophet doesn’t need to interpret it or tell us what it means. It seems pretty obvious that there is a clear linear history from the time of Daniel all the way to the time of the Messiah, the end of Israel’s transgressions when Jesus comes to see the filth of the temple himself and then receives the injustice of Israel’s shepard’s himself by being crucified, and then promises to bring judgment on them within that generation. Seems pretty straight forward
The 70th week already happened.
The ‘he’ in Daniel 9:27 is Messiah the Prince who was mentioned in the two previous verses. The 70th week of Daniel 9 prophecy points to the time when Messiah the Prince appeared to carry out His multiyear ministry, and when (in the middle of the 70th week) He confirmed the covenant (that was referred to in Daniel 9:4) with His blood as the Passover Lamb, to atone for our sins. It's not about the end times or the antichrist
Seventy weeks are determined [cut off of 2,300 prophetic days = years] upon thy people and upon thy holy city ...to finish the transgression, and (Jn 19:30; Col 2:13-14; Is 53:12) ...to make an end of sins, and (Jn 1:29; 1Jn 3:5; Jn 5:14; Jn 8:11; Rom 6:6-7; 1 Cor 15:3; Heb 9:26-28; Heb 10:14) ...to make reconciliation for iniquity, and (Rom 5:10; 2 Cor 5:18-19; Col 1:20-22; Eph 2:14-16) ...to bring in everlasting righteousness, and (Matt 3:15; Rom 3:21-22; Rom 8:4; 2 Cor 5:21) ...to seal up the vision and prophecy, and (Matt 3:13-17) ...to anoint the most Holy. (Jn 1:32-34; Mark 1:15; Acts 10:38; Luke 4:18; Is 61:1) {Daniel 9:24} < The context
And he [the Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for ONE WEEK: and IN THE MIDST OF THE WEEK (the seventieth) he [Christ] SHALL CAUSE THE SACRIFICE AND THE OBLATION TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations (the continued temple sacrifices, after Christ one perfect sacrifice.) he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ("Behold your house has been left unto you desolate.") {Daniel 9:27}
7 weeks + 62 weeks + one week = 70 weeks, to anoint the most Holy, and to seal up the vision and the prophecy.
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: (for there were three and a half years remaining grace for "thy people" of the final week.) but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. {Acts 13:46-48}
To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years. {2 Chronicles 36:21}
For 490 years, equal to 70 sabbath rest for the land every seventh year, that Israel and Judah transgressed the law of God. This is why they received seventy years exiled in bondage in the land of Babylon. There was no gap in their seventy years in exil, and there is no gap in the 490 years of transgressing the law of God, and there most certainly was no gap unto the coming of the Messiah who did not come in a vacuum, but rather confirmed his covenant with many for there and a half years, and in the land of Israel's inheritance. The stoning of Steven is when probation closed on the covenant that God made with the their fathers, exactly three and a half years after Jesus Christ, our passover was sacrificed for us, and the gospel of the kingdom of heaven went out unto the Gentiles also.
cont:
Understanding the seventys week as the week in whichs middle Jesus Died (And yes, he ended all sacrifices..., someone ending Jewish Sacrifices after Jesus death and resuraction is hardly doing anything bad, cause God already removed them himself). The last 3 1/2 Years afterwards are the time, that the Deciples only preached in Israel. So the time of Israel was ended and the time of reaching (also) the gentiles began...Putting the last week into the future is not only making it unnessecarily complicated, but also violates the context that does not say anything about a break of 2000 years...
I’m no math wiz but I know the AV1611 KJV has tons of sevens times 7 times 7 etc. I know there’s every single detail in the Bible for a reason. This hit me awhile back when Peter was asking Jesus about how many times should I forgive…7? Jesus said no I tell you 70x7. Well that magical number 490 comes up regarding FORGIVENESS. I think you all are getting my drift. I’ve read that a million times and not until past 6 months did the Holy Spirit bring that connection to my mind. It’s like an eternity amount of times that His shed blood will have forever. It’s always in the present moment and it is finished. Thank you to everyone who takes time out to make known His words which are unbroken!
This (the opposition to these opines) is called dispensationalism became popular around 1832 (Vatican! to distract from the real antichrist, the papacy! always has been!)
it states AFTER the 69th week which puts it all in the 70th week. Daniel 9:25 points to Messiah appearing AFTER the 69th week. Daniel 9:26 points to Messiah dying AFTER 69 weeks which means in the 70th week
The time of trouble was during Nehemiah with Sanballat etc.. Jesus was not cut off in the 69 weeks as he says but in the midst of the 70th week. The Jews had their 70 weeks and it ended with the stoning of Stephen. This as you will recall precipitated the Gentiles being used to spread the gospel since the Jews had failed on that assignment from the start in Sinai. I am doing a long lecture on this soon but so much to do. The Jews failed in their last 70 weeks after the return from exile and failed. There is no more covenant for the Jews it ended since they killed their spouse and the old covenant of Sinai is over.
The 70 weeks are continuous. There is NO gap between the 69th and 70th weeks. This guy is inserting an artificial gap inbetween week 69 and 70. Daniel’s 70 week prophecy runs continuously from the decree of Artexeries to rebuild the temple in 457 BC to Stephen’s stoning in 34 AD. The gospel then went to the Gentiles. The entire 70 weeks have been completed. There is NO future week left.
The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of “seventy weeks.” This period applies to one complete, sequential block of time. This prophecy would start during the Persian period and would end during the time of the Messiah.
Logic requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it does not, then it cannot properly be called the 70th week!
It is illogical to insert a 2,000-year gap between the 69th and the 70th week. No hint of this gap is found in the prophecy itself. There is no gap between the first 7 weeks and the following 62 weeks. Why insert one between the 69th and the 70th week?
Daniel 9:27 says nothing about a seven-year period of tribulation, or about any Antichrist
The focus of this prophecy is the Messiah, not the Antichrist. Modern interpreters have applied “the people of the prince” who would come to “destroy the city and the sanctuary” (verse 26) to the Antichrist. Yet the text does not say this. In the past, that sentence has been applied to the Romans, who under Prince Titus did “destroy the city and the sanctuary” in'‘A.D. 70
“He shall confirm the covenant.” Jesus Christ came “to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” Romans 15:8. Nowhere in the Bible is Antichrist ever said to make or confirm a covenant with anyone! The word “covenant” always applies to the Messiah, never to the Antichrist!
“He shall confirm the covenant with many.” Jesus said, “This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.” Matthew 26:28. Jesus used the same words, because He knew that He was fulfilling Daniel 9:27!
“In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” The 70th week was from A.D. 27 to 34. After three and a half years of ministry, Christ died in A.D. 31, “in the midst [middle] of the week.” At the moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was rent [torn] in twain from the top to the bottom.” Matthew 27. The Great Sacrifice had been offered!
“For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” Jesus plainly applied this “abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet” (Matthew 24:15) to the time when His followers were to flee from Jerusalem before the destruction of the second temple in A.D. 70. Jesus told His 12 disciples, “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies [the Roman armies led by Prince Titus], then know that its desolation is near.” Luke 21:20, emphasis added. Those disciples did “see” those very events. Christ’s very last words to the Pharisees from inside the second temple were, “Behold, (Your house is left unto you desolate.” Matthew 23:38. Thus Daniel’s prophecy about Jerusalem becoming “desolate” was exactly fulfilled in A.D. 70! Jesus understood this perfectly.
I do not agree with this video. Jesus came and was anointed at the end of the 69th week, baptised and ANNOINTED by the Holy Spirit. it was then 3.5 years to when he was cut off and out an end to sacrifice by His own death on the cross! Jesus ministry on earth lasted 3.5 years. There is no verse that said that the 490 years that were set for the nation of Israel have been paused. It is a TIME based prophecy, if my boss says I have 5 days set to do something, I only have 5 days consecutive! Not 4 this week and then 1 sometime next month. after 3.5 years from Jesus on the cross, the gospel was no longer only preached to the Jews. Peter was under the belief that the gospel was only for the Jews, but through the vision of the unclean animals in the sheet (Acts 10:10-16), God told Peter that the Gentiles (the rest of humanity) were also needing the Gospel (Acts10:28, 10:34-35). Jewish leadership at the time were very clear that they rejected Jesus as they stoned Stephen and imprisoned other disciples. Daniel 9:26 talks about the Messiah, Daniel 9:27 says "he" will confirm a covenant for 1 week. And in the middle of that week, bring an end to sacrifice and offering. Jesus died on the cross and was cut off after the 69th week in the middle of the 70th week. At the end of another 3.5 years the gospel went from the Jews to the rest of the world. The Stoning of Stephen was 3.5 years after Jesus death on the cross. How do you explain other time prophecies like the 1260 days of Daniel 12:7 or the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14? these cannot make sense if you apply that the 70th week has not occurred yet.
Jesus confirmed the covernant of the end of the 70 weeks prophecy with the set time for (Dan 9:24) Israelites and the rest of humanity, John 3:16. If we had to wait for the Israelites to turn back to God, then no other nation could be saved, as this was a determined/set time that has not ended. But even the wording does not allow a time “pause”. The hebrew language/words do not allow for time to stop in a prophecy that is a set time period. The hebrew word for determined is khaw-thak', which means to cut off. At the end of the 70 weeks the Isralite nation had made thier choice through the stoning of Stephen by the religious leaders (Acts 7:51-60). This was 3.5 years after Jesus died on the cross. The apostles knew after this and God showed Peter that the gospel was then to go to the rest of the world (Acts 10:9-16; 11:1-18 and READ 11:18!).
Q: "If this is to happen in the future, the last set of seven, than what sacrifice is being referred to since Christians do not sacrifice anymore?"
A: "Sacrifices are going to start again, it actually already has in some sense as they now practice and train for when the temple comes up." <<< AND HERE LIES OUR BIG PROBLEM. The cabal will attempt to convince the Christian world that WE ARE IN A BIBLICAL PROPHECY WHICH HAS ALREADY HAPPENED, and they will USE IT TO GARNER SUPPORT FOR SOME MAJOR AGENDAS, of which I don't know but we do know "Israel" is a proxy state for intel agencies to do all sorts of things thru, and Christians, the largest and most important VOTING BLOCK in the West, give Israel a PASS on WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY DO. They give them money and VOTE ON LEADERS BASED ON THEIR COMMITMENT TO ISRAEL. ISRAEL IS THE MOST POWERFUL LOBBY IN OUR CONGRESS, so thru ISRAEL can be made laws in OUR country which go AGAINST us thanks to the IDIOT CHRISTIANS WHO VOTE IN POLITICIANS WHO BOW DOWN TO ISRAEL, who is a PROXY STATE FOR THE CABAL. Imagine if these Christians think we're in some end times prophecy, Kek! They'll be so easy to manipulate then! WAKE UP!
