You are not going to win the war against baby killers by going 150 mph on this issue. There are profound spiritual and theological questions regarding the rights of a fertilized egg within hours or days of conception, for example. I know where I come down on it but I think we need to convince others rather than compel them. So how does that happen? If you are not a really religious person, you might be okay with the day after pill, for example. But when the "pro choice" people tell you that they are in favor of killing an innocent viable fetus that can feel pain, so as to Ebenezer Scrooge "decrease the surplus population", they might reassess whether there might be something to this "good versus evil" paradigm.
We are winning the battle on this issue with the young people so let's not fuck it up. It really is the boomers that are hell bent on killing babies up until the time of birth, and even after birth in the case of a botched abortion. At least where I live which is deep blue city/state. Young people really don't feel that worried about an unwanted pregnancy because it's not that hard to not get pregnant.
What I love about this segment with Bill Maher is that it is persuasive, not compulsive. He is literally making left leaning young people - who would, as Dennis Miller once said, step over a homeless person to spit on someone wearing a fur coat - think hard about what he is saying. He is literally telling them that the left is in favor of depopulation by force. This has huge implications because if an elite like Maher is verbatim telling his audience that, "yea, it's murder but there are too many people in the world", is it so crazy to think that people in his circle might think so too? And if that's what they think, what wouldn't they do? Perhaps create a bioweapon with a kill shot for good measure? I am convinced he is part of the deprogramming agenda. It just reeks of a psyop to me.
When you let voters, led by the deceiver, to vote in one of the most corrupt counties in the world about killing children, you ain’t winning anything. We can’t win this war. But God can. But not by being soft with God’s most innocent. Make your stance on His laws. God will take care of the rest. Maybe it gets worse? Maybe it won’t? But that’s not up to us. God puts you on a stage, in a position of where truth matters, I would advise you to stand for what God cares about. Not some plan you’ve come up with. Your plan will suck compared to His. People claim to have faith in God, but as soon as they lay their cross at His feet, and let Him handle this, we immediately pick it back up and expect different results. If people want God to handle this, then do what’s different. Don’t be like the world. Trust in Him.
You are not going to win the war against baby killers by going 150 mph on this issue.
We're not going to win it by braking to a stop on the Interstate and putting it in reverse, either, which is what people are doing.
The issue is that it's completely cynical for people to suddenly start singing a different tune about abortion just because the 2024 election is coming up.
Here are the reasons why backpeddling on this issue will most likely come back to kick us in the balls.
It makes us look like blatant hypocrites. There are already campaign ads for various liberals around the country where they have video of their conservative rivals prior to the SC judgment on Roe vs Wade going scorched earth, proudly stating that they won't rest until all abortion in the US is illegal, and now that those same people are worried about votes, they're backpeddling and talking about how it's all about states' rights and "common sense solutions".
Does anyone actually believe that anyone is going to think these conservative candidates have really had a change of heart and have changed their beliefs and opinions surrounding abortion? Someone would have to be pretty stupid to believe that all of this backpeddling is due to anything more than pandering to people to get votes.
Who in their right mind would think that those new viewpoints on abortion will last any longer than it takes them to certify votes for the election? The people who are being pandered to with this aren't stupid. I, personally, would be insulted if someone expected me to believe that all of these changes of heart on abortion is anything other than complete BS, just scraping for a vote
What happens when one of the blue states cashes in on all this "states' rights" talk and make some horribly evil abortion law? What will we be expected to do when that happens? Just say, "Hey, it's all about states' rights, so they can do what they want!"? Because we're going to look like utter assholes from here on out when we raise hell about what other states are doing. As soon as we bartered away the upper hand of our moral stance on the subject in the hopes we might get some votes thrown our way, we lost. It's going to make it all the more difficult to get people to come around to our side because we've lost the upper hand in the argument.
Does anyone really think this is going to sway a significant number of voters? How many people do you know that are wishy washy on the subject of abortion? By the time someone reaches the age to vote, they've developed some very strong opinions on the subject. And since young people don't make up a large percentage of voters in the US, most voters are pretty much set in their ways on the subject. Pro-abortion people aren't going to suddenly believe that the conservatives who are backpeddling on it are people they want to vote for. They don't trust them.
Basically, to sum it up, the voters who are being targeted with this aren't stupid. They're not going to suddenly vote for conservatives because they've gone all wishy-washy about abortion rights.
And then you have the added bonus of pissing off the ultraconservative voters who don't like seeing people suddenly becoming more liberal on abortion rights.
I just don't see how people can believe that enough people are going to be swayed by all this to flip to Republicans.

I don't even know where to start with this post.
How many Boomers do you know that are getting pregnant? The youngest Boomers are turning 60 this year. You know a lot of 60+ year olds getting knocked up?
The idea that younger people are the ones less likely to have unwanted pregnancies is just hilarious.
Just going with biological obstacles, the older people are, the more difficult it is for them to get pregnant.
You're really not inspiring any confidence in me when you make comments like that.
The former Governor of Virginia - a Boomer - is hellbent on killing babies. He's never been pregnant I'm guessing. Just wanted to make sure the people of the his state could kill a lot of babies. Most of my Boomer friends are very invested in this "right to choose." Average age of the pink pussy hat wearing weirdos at the Chicago protest was 60. I think Madonna made an appearance at the DC pink pussy hat protest and said something about blowing up the WH or something. She's well past her prime for sure. It's not about themselves or their own child. It's literally about killing babies. As many as they can.
Ok, then who exactly do you think are the ones having abortions, since you said it wasn't the younger generation.
My point is that the ones advocating for abortion are too old to get pregnant, and you say young people aren't the ones having the abortions, either, so...

It is mostly minority women.
