There is a war going on (supposedly) between good ET's and the bad ones. It may be the good ET's keeping the nukes from being used. It is believed by many in the ufo community that ET's got renewed interest in our planet when we started nuclear testing in the 1940's because those weapons can affect the entire solar system or maybe even the whole universe.
