Our system of gov't was based on the Scriptures and 10 commandments. The last 6 commandments are codified, basically. The first 4 must never be codified though.
The first four can be acknowledged and/or proclaimed, though, and imho the sabbath is fair to enforce at a local level. Just about everything should be acceptable locally, if the state is onboard with allowing it.
