I don't understand why this isn't top comment, especially in a sticky thread promoting pedowood DIE entertainment that's rubber stamped by the tiny hat brigade.
It's so incredibly clear that the "rogue" president is meant to be a Trump stand-in. The entire film is setup so poorly - there are no clearly defined factions in the entirety of the movie, ambiguity is intentional so that the viewer can self-insert themselves into this leftist power fantasy dressed up for the "average American".
You have guys in Hawaiian shirts having a firefight with uniformed soldiers that have no unit designations or badges that define what side they are fighting for. Hawaiian shirts with plate carriers are clearly meant to be the "boogaloo boys"' operator meme which started on /k/ and eventually got co-op'd by glowies and present day overrun with gays and tranny 2A "supporters". See the colored hair sniper wearing nail polish in this movie for reference.
Press journalists are still glorified in the movie as self-sacrificing, even if the "establishment talking head" media died, despite being two sides of the same coin. Citizen journalism took off over social media thanks to Q and anybody who isn't grifting doesn't care about fame/fortune/influencing - just the facts and truthseeking. Wearing "PRESS" on your clothes doesn't mean a whole lot, in my mind, because citizen journalists wouldn't care about that and people are going to shoot at you anyway
The entire movie is a bait and switch tactic: anybody can self-insert into the movie with the way it's set up (with plenty of "diversity" fighting within the different groups of people, uniformed or otherwise) right up until the very end, where it's clear as to what the movie is meant to be. Take the symbolism with Nick Offerman and the "rogue" president who's trying to serve a self-appointed 3rd term (sound familiar in the runup to 2020 election the fake news was trying to promote...?). Dressed up like Trump and the red tie, which is classic entertainment symbolism for "good vs bad". Good guys have always represented blue while red has always been bad. Demonrats blue vs Republican red. Nick Offerman got his big break playing the "conservative" government employee in the TV series Parks and Rec. Offerman's president character in this movie is just an extension of his Ron Swanson Parks and Rec in the mind of the viewer because that's what he's best known for. Then you have the rogue president saying he wanted to abolish the FBI, exactly like how Trump is on the record for saying during his 1st term, and fake news raked him over the coals for.
Stop giving your hard earned currency to entertainment media, sports, culture that is very clearly (in my mind at least) aligned against American values, such like this movie is. The Top Gun sequel is about the only movie within the last 5 years you could make an exception for, and I haven't even cared enough to see it.
i literally came home and wrote a 5 page script for a youtube rant review cos it pissed me off so much the director saying its politically neutral yet the movie ends on a bunch of minorities standing over the corpse of white supremacy and revelling in the death of a straight white man/Trump avatar which represents everything the left hates.
They kill the President (AKA Trump - no kidding, they even have him mimic his speech patterns ffs) and the racially diverse group of soldiers execute him and the movie ends with them standing over the corpse of the avatar of white supremacy and Trump etc. The end credits then play out over this shot for 3 minutes rubbing it in and gloating.
It's incredibly left wing imo. I'm gonna title my YT video as "Civil War is a leftist's wet dream" or something lol
The press. Such heroes.
The President they all wanted to kill. Blue suit, red tie. Anyone come to mind?

Is that how the movie ends? Would you mind spoiling it for me? I'm not going to watch it in its entirety.
