I can't seem to find it now, but Kim Iverson did a video about a city counsel meeting that she attended in Los Angeles during covid. As you recall, during covid, people were not required to pay rent, leaving landlords in a bad predicament because the landlords still had to pay the mortgages. At the meeting, the politicians talked about how they were going to acquire all these multifamily properties from these landlords in dire straits and the city would use them as housing for the homeless.
