Graduation is supposed to be about celebration of accomplishments in your educational field, not about politics. This individual was going to spoil it for everyone by bringing politics into a solemn but special celebration. Cancelling speakers, unless they would talk politics was unnecessary. Cancelling the valedictorian’s speech, if it was to be political, was right.
