Yeah it definitely happens in private companies too.
Kickbacks (or “bribes” as they might be called, which are a sin)
creating justification for one’s own job by building in the obsolescence
doing projects just to keep budget available (this can be justifiable, but it can also be wasteful)
not listening to warnings on timely needed actions
Etc.
People will say it’s being legalistic, but the Old Testament says a lot about how to manage money, how to do business, how to run civics, and how to maintain oneself, and we ignore basically all of it.
It is why we are where we are. The immigration is a curse for not doing it. Women being forced to work and women-run business programs are a curse for not doing it. The child sacrifice is a sign it hasn’t been done. The being ruled by foreigners is a curse for not doing it.
All these things are promised to those who ignore what’s commanded, and here we are, and nobody knows why.
