Isn't relying on a sole book for The Truth exactly what a fundamentalist Muslim would say about the Koran? Which version of the Bible? Which translation? Old or New Testament? What about Apochrophal texts? What about non-canonical texts that were not included in the official Bible but thus not adulterated by 2000+ years of various flavors of Cabal control freak manipulation?I would argue the only true path to God is by going within and seeking to know yourself.
There are contradictions in all of those other books. The truth can only be found in the Holy Bible through the Holy Spirit. There are no contradictions in God's word.
Is it really unfathomable that God would have the ability and power to control what was put into His book? The entire Bible points to Jesus Christ as the Messiah and that is not by accident. The vast amount of connections, references, and consistency in the Holy Bible is truly miraculous.
Again, which version of the Bible are you talking about? King James? NIV? NLT?Which do you use? But in any case, do you not see my point, though? A fundamentalist Muslim would say exactly the same thing about the Koran that you just said about the Bible, yet there are plenty of condrafictions between these two texts. Between two people who are absolutely convinced that they are right in this case, war is inevitable, which leads to death, human sufferring and misery. How is that the work of a benevolent god?
I hear what you are saying but my response to that is the Holy Bible is the only Holy book that contains no contradictions. Truth be told, there are those that will hear the Word and will not be able to understand regardless.
Matthew 13:14-15 KJV
[14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: [15] For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest at any time they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And should understand with their heart, And should be converted, and I should heal them.

I am currently using the KJV because I was dismayed to learn that references to fasting had been removed in my Christian Standard Bible.
