Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I have noticed on ZeroHedge that a majority of commenters do not trust or like Trump. They are not TDS people, and their reasons are pretty normal... they claim he didn't follow thru on campaign promises; he keeps giving money to Israel; he orchestrated the latest funding bill for Ukraine; he did warp speed which created the awful vax, etc.
Anons see these things as part of a complex script. But it is obvious that a lot of people who don't understand Q are not happy with Trump.
Just an fyi.
Another angle - bear in mind lots of people on ZH and similar sites tend to be libertarians. And libertarians as a general rule view Principle as their guide but drop context in the process. Example: Trump wants closed/regulated borders. Principle: Everyone should be free to go wherever they want, borders are bad. Conclusion: Trump is bad. Context dropped: But not everyone is benevolent nor crossing borders with good intent.
They do this about all kinds of stuff and end up screwing themselves in the process.
You're right, libertarians tend to favor open borders, but also forget about the human trafficking problem or think if the govt went away that problem would disappear.
I consider the border an extension of private property. The nation is private property. The border should be secure for the same reason everyone has locks on their front door.
Yes, and this is just one example of their way of thinking. It's like yes, the principle isn't wrong, but it relies on a different context than the actual reality. Tariffs is another - yeah they are not pure capitalism, but until other countries don't do them either....
