On Tuesday, the state Appellate court’s First Department reversed a ruling dismissing Chubb insurance’s assertion that its policies did not cover child sexual abuse claims that church leaders enabled and covered up for decades.
If Chubb and other insurance companies are off the hook, the Archdiocese, which covers 10 New York counties including Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island, will have no option but to file for bankruptcy, said attorney Jason Amala, whose firm filed about 75 sexual abuse cases against the Archdiocese.
Like taxes, I hate that innocent people's money will go to cover evil people's deeds. They should take personal holdings of the perpetrators and those that covered for them, first.
That’s seems interesting that the insurance companies said no to sex abuse. Ok , I’m I covered if I fall down faulty stairs ay one of the church’s if “yes” then sue on damage to the child mental abuse on property/site.
I’m not bashing regular Catholics, the stench is in the doctrines and the political power / corruption.
That’s why the reformation happened.
Protestant churches are not faultless either. The difference is just like Govt. consolidated power leads to extreme corruption, even to the point of a false teaching of a “vicar of christ” (papacy) and the need for an intercessor, priest. Versus distributing different orgs with varying beliefs regarding small variations (like sprinkling vs immersion). Harder to infiltrate but most are after hundreds of years ( mostly by Jesuits).

Serves 'em right, The Archdiocese should pay for perverted "employee" child abuse, lies and cover-ups while under their watch.
Amen, I totally agree.

Why would insurance be on the hook for someone committing a crime ?
The courts were ruling on that very issue.

This is where I suspect the courts will rule on those lines you pointed out.
This has already happened in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. I believe there's something like 300 cases pending.
Exactly, I remember posting a link on that in the past.
Rotten churches, rotten to the core.

The religion is good. It is those serpents wearing religious clothing that needed to be arrested.
