The Jews very often focus on learning teachings about it while voluntarily ignoring the actual text in full.
The majority of Christians have said that the foundation of the Word (the Old Testament) is not only irrelevant except as stories of faith, but immoral to try and follow.
The whole Bible is relevant today (even Numbers), and to all people.
Yeshua was the atoning sacrifice. It seems highly unlikely that there could even be a Messiah born today, as many criteria for him are no longer even possible.
We should do our best to follow all of the Bible, not add or remove anything, and make sure we are interpreting commandments with all applicable context in mind.
It’s also worth noting that a significant number of the truly problematic people list atheism or non-observant as their religion.
One of the more important things in this aspect is going to be specificity.
Perhaps a more important thing is going to be learning to not add or subtract from the Bible, which all three Abrahamic religions are guilty of doing.
