Jail time is cool. He needs to repair the damage he did and then some. Getting his butt whupped would have been fair. This isn’t acceptable behavior.
It just shouldn’t be a “felony”.
How does someone like this get so triggered by a bumper sticker to think that’s a reasonable behavior, anyway? Edit: think I figured it out…. Below.
It’s also significant that he’s so compliant with the officer after being so noncompliant with the man who is indicating he wants to be free. This man is enslaved, spiritually, and wants to demand anyone who thinks themselves free be kept on the plantation. Is his problem that he doesn’t believe he can be free? Why? u/brain_dead
Apparently the good folk in Florida believe damage over $1,000 should be a felony.
Their home, their rules. If the idiot in question would have respected other opinions, he wouldn't be in jail. Things I expect from my grandkids, were somehow acceptable to this "felon".
All he had to do, was self restraint, but that was too much for a 62 yr old libtard
That's just silly. There's plenty of felonies that aren't death-penalty worthy. E.g. financial fraud. Like fuck up bad enough we're not gonna kill you, but you don't get guns or voting etc anymore, after the actual penalty (fines/jail).
In the current US setup, you’re absolutely correct.
c. 1300, from Anglo-French. The exact definition changed over time and place, and even the distinction from misdemeanor or trespass is not always observed. In old use often a crime involving forfeiture of lands, goods, or a fee or a crime punishable by death. Variously used in the U.S.; often the sense is "crime punishable by death or imprisonment in a state penitentiary."
We have overused it to get more people into prison for a lot of reasons that aren’t necessarily worthwhile to the people who have to fund those systems.
If the people regain control of the prison system and law, there are probably a lot of things we are going to have to rethink how they work and why we’re doing it. What are the end goals?
There’s probably going to need to be a period with a lot shorter leash and much more strict consequences while the “fear of God” is reestablished, metaphorically, if not hopefully literally.
I wasn’t stating what the term is, though, but where it came from for purposes of understanding.
Worth noting, this should not be a felony.
“Felony” should mean “a crime worthy of death”.

Agreed, but he will probably plea down to a high misdemeanor if it truly is his first offense.
Libtards are so narrow minded and self righteous that they feel all "empowered" doing stupid s*it to other people's property. Love this story.

That's fascinating but whatever
Yeah. It’s also always possible I’m totally full of crap. :-). Same as everyone else. Just some thoughts though.
