If they did not know what they were doing--according to Jesus---at worst it is manslaughter. Yes, it was part of the bigger plan to expand salvation to the world.
We have different opinions. I believe that Jesus said this because they didn’t know he is God incarnate. Ie they didn’t know they were killing God so He asked the Father to forgive them for their ignorance.
Anyone could see he was being killed physically- that’s the point of being crucified. Are you saying they didn’t know he was going to die by their (Jewish Sanhedrin and Roman soldiers)?
