You are exaggerating... end of the 19th century is 1880/1890 that makes it some 160/170 years NOT centuries... You dont say that a guy that lived until 101 years of age that he was centuries old. LOL

The 19th century was the 1800s, so Europe has been using insects for food uses for centuries.
