He read something about they need Marines to defend the Constitution.
When was the last time our military actually defended the Constitution? Was it when we went over to Afghanistan? Iraq? Was it when we went spent billions and lost American lives to defend Kuwait back in the '90s?
In my lifetime, I don't recall our military ever doing anything but imposing the will of our government onto other nations. I'll admit that I fell for it, at the time. I served in the Air Force for 4 years, deploying to Panama for Just Cause and also over the Middle East, post Desert Storm, but there was nothing in either one of those countries that was worth one drop of American blood.
The only US military operation in my lifetime I'm aware of that has been performed in the defense of our constitution is the Q operation...
...but I'll take it.
Top military recruited Trump, allowed Russia to protect the 2016 election, executed Q operation, and now we civilians are getting a chance to set things right through peaceful means.
TBH it was our collective, multi-generational fault that it became this way. Military dutifully followed civilian orders. Civilians have gradually lost control to the point that now 0% of legislation is civilian driven. This cycle ends when the op has driven enough of us to the precipice.

It sounds you’re describing a military-civilian alliance. Where have we heard that before…
