In all these cases of mass murder no explanations or reasons were given for their murder.

I think Cambodia was the "Reds" regrouping and trying to find out what they got wrong with the Bolsheviks. I don't think they had any long term plans for Cambodia but the takeover was a success. I think they learned a lot from that experiment. But still, it wouldn't work here because of Americans have this annoying habit of collecting guns. They couldn't figure out how to duplicate Cambodia with that one bug in the system.

Exactly. In the event of a communist takeovers (which tend to be heavily ✡️ influenced) removing guns is a must.

The quote was from Mao Zedong, founder of Communist China. Mao’s first act after gaining complete control of China in 1949 was to take away all guns from the population.
