Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
There’s so many artists and different types of music I’ve never heard of, including the ones you listed. Sounds like a great time😀 What’s a concert with out a few drunks? IDK, I’ve never experienced one. The worst was a drunk girl spilling beer all over me and my hip hurt so bad the next day because I kept ramming my hip into her pushing her off of me. We saw them at several Miranda Lambert concerts and followed on social media. She was a very sweet girl until she was drunk, still nice but out of control.
Oh I don’t know if I can pick a favorite concert.
Funniest: Jimmy Buffett, huge bucket list and to top it off it free, won them on the radio.
Most exited: Kenny Chesney in the pit, Charlotte Panthers football stadium. His shows are very fun. Other than Buffett, his fans are the most into it than any other I’ve attended. We had floor seats that I paid way too much for. The radio station was there and we entered the ticket upgrade contest. My daughter won sandbar tickets. Kenny has two separate areas for stadium pit tickets. The one closest to the stage is more expensive and other section along the T part of stage that sticks out is the sandbar. In 2012 those tickets were very hard to get and about four times more expensive than other tickets. His shows sold out in minutes back then. Anyway it was one of the top five concert experiences for me. Also a huge learning experience about being in the pit. It was the one and only time I wasn’t front row in the pit.
Most energetic and rocking: Eric Church, several times and always awesome. Country music but more like a rock concert.
Most emotional: Almost there years we saw Chris Stapleton in multiple states. It was like coming home. They knew us, not really but we were recognized. Because we had a dog my husband went with my daughter or I did. They were three day concert trips. I lost count I think I went to about 27 concerts. One concert they gave my daughter the top of the drum and signed it. She & my meet them a few times back stage. Not planned it just happened.
Favorite of all time: Miranda Lambert! She is very fun and you can tell she loves music. From writing to performing. She’s about the only one I would pay the ridiculous prices of today.
I could go on & on, I’ve been very blessed sharing these experiences with my daughter for about five years going to local and out of state concerts. Fun times but most importantly getting to know my daughter as an adult and friend. Haven’t been since weekend before shutdown 2020. Ticket prices have doubled and some almost tripled. Decided to put our money on other adventures.
