Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Mosh Pit? Is that different from other Pit area of a concert. I think it’s people jumping and slamming into each other. Then again I’m really not sure. I’m very curious about different concert experiences. I’ve always wanted to see Kid Rock, hubby says I don’t want to be with the kid fans. Little bit rougher characters than I could handle🤷🏻♀️ The most that happens in a country music concert pit is people getting drunk and fighting. They are sent out very quickly. I’ve seen artists stop the show to get the fighters taken out. The other bad thing in the pit is people get right up on you. Especially women. They have been right on my but/heels. When that happened I started dancing and stomping my feet with boots on. After I did a quick push with my but on them and stomped on the feet I didn’t have any issues🤣 Most people have been super nice. It’s a select few that do things like push their beer cups and food trash up under your feet. I would turn around and put it under their feet. Then you get the people that come in thirty minutes before the show trying to squeeze in to the front row. This entire experience helped my daughter become tough and not take crap off of people. The great thing is you bond with the people that waited in line hours before doors opened and we held the line on the front row. We have made great friends at concerts and still friends today.
I went through a very dark time in my life. We’re all I did was go to heavy metal concerts, and I was just an angry human being. I would go to these concerts and I would stand at the outer circle of the mosh pit, and when people would get shoved around - when they get to the edges, you’re supposed to push them back in.
Well - that’s what I did. I shove them back in, and I shoved them hard! 😂😂
I never got hurt, though, and as a woman I think that’s pretty rare for that type of environment. Looking back I think God was protecting me because I was pretty volatile at that time.
I was the cool mom that took my daughter and all her friends to the heavy-metal concerts. We had so much fun.
Oh gosh I know that’s not for me. I would not like that even back in my teens. Country concert pits are tame compared to that.
I went to Metallica and the mosh pit was too much for me. The nearby marine corps base cranked it up to 11. 🤣
Marines tend to do that. 😂😂😂
Sounds like an experience you won’t forget! Standing in front of the speakers can really get to you, depending on the artist. At Eric Church concert my entire body was vibrating. He has the most speakers of anyone I’ve seen. When Chris Stapleton was just getting started playing the bigger venues they hadn’t quite figured out the speakers. When he started singing it was such a crazy thing. Huge vibrations and a little hard on the ears. Once they were halfway through the first song it was normal. After half the tour they figured it out. Standing at the stage and a lifetime of loud music is probably why my ears ring constantly.
