Successful weapons or reconnaissance systems, like the U-2 or the SR-1, never advertise ahead of time, we always find out about them years after they have been in service. This silly article just invites Russian sabotage and/or close monitoring. Each new sub could be neutralized as it left the builder's port.
EDIT: One place I could see these being used successfully would be if the Narco gangs in Mexico and South America wanted a new way of smuggling drugs into America. Could the Coast Guard find these?
And...
This is very likely fake. Why would you paint hi-viz stripes on a submarine intended to operate close to the surface attaching mines to ships. I would expect it to be colored for stealth.
Top left “photo” looks photoshopped to put it in place of something that would be in airplane hanger. Big door looks like airplane hanger door. Why would a submarine be in an airplane hanger instead of a drydock of some sort?
