I'd say it is in the clean-up phase. The Ukrainian army was obliterated early on in the piece, a second army was raised - and was obliterated also.

Now there is plenty of Western materiel, (escellent target practice) but a dire shortage of peeps still willing to fight. Even the ideologically motivated remnants of battallions are refusing to fight. Plus there is now obvious proof that a lot of the money allocated to defense lines in Kharkov, has disappeared, leaving miseable piles of Ukrainian (miniature) Dragon's teeth, next to roads - for Russians to photograph. I mean, one wouldn't actually want to BLOCK the road, because the road is useful for supplying the troops closer to the lines.
