His biological father was Ted Jorgensen. Wiki does not mention his father's (Jeff's grandfather's) name, but says his father "took a purchasing job at Sandia National Laboratories," (nuke facility) and does not get more specific.

Wiki does not list his father, but Ted Jorgensen's life was 1944-2015.

That is the end of the story, as far as Wiki is concerned. However ...

Found a Ted Jorgensen online, lived 1917-1996. Born in Chicago, died in Albuquerque NM. Probably the "Sr." to Jeff's father ("Jr." but Wiki does not mention that).

So, story is plausible, but no way to verify the giving uranium thing.

All I can say is Jeff had some interesting connections and sources of funds, for a company that was constantly losing money:
