Yes. This. The truth of the Civil War is out there. Written by the journals and letters of soldiers. I found the truth of my childhood church through journals and letters.
Write it and print it. Your antecedents won't be able to read cursive.
Write it in long hand , give them a reason to learn.

Arthritis has destroyed my once perfectly legible handwriting. I thought I would spend my old age making quilts. Can barely hold a needle for longer than 5 minutes.
