Somewhat ironically. The Priesthood and Catholic Religious orders often serve as a dumping ground for the particularly devout Catholics, or just wealthy Europeans and American Elites to more or less dump members of the family who often don’t live up to expectations or have some ‘unforgivable’ flaw. Such as being a Homosexual. Where they can at least either ‘save’ themselves. Or be of some value to the family in gaining influence.
Which at least in part is what’s contributed to the Catholic Church’s less than stellar reputation. As the people who are supposed to be shining examples of the devout. Often aren’t. They just have nowhere else left to go.
And it’s a problem largely self-inflicted by the people who claim to cherish the very same institutions.
They make it so unappealing that very few people choose it. The fact that the Vatican would allow Homosexual and Female priests before simply allowing their priests to marry and have a family is very telling in my opinion. In other words - It's a feature not a bug
People are sticklers for tradition and Doctrine. And there’s no bigger stickler for selective adherence to tradition and Doctrine then the Catholic Church. Even if it’s well past apparent there should be serious discussion among Church leaders about the pros and cons of certain Doctrines and traditions.
It’s “Their Bride/One true love is the church” type of doctrine. And to be fair. At one point centuries ago it may have actually worked. That is of course before the lay people and various Elites/Nobles realized they could eliminate needing to be faced with family disappointments by shunting them off to the Clergy and Religious Life.
Though the marriage rule isn’t completely binding. There’s I think 1 or maybe two regional sects. That while they technically are under the authority of the Roman Church. Have some exceptions to traditional doctrine made in their specific cases.
Lmao, my friend went to roman catholic seminary in 1977. He left because within the first month the homo leadership tried seducing him into a homo orgy. He showed up at home and his Irish catholic parents were mortified he quit and disowned him for walking away. There were 11 kids in his family and he and his sister were both pushed into Roman catholic service from a young age. It was a big point of pride for them. His sister who became a nun quit after 10 years and had become a lesbian who ended up pregnant by her parish priest. She became an activist against rhe church after that. My friend became a depressed mess who eventually killed himself over the guilt. For anynpriest to act like it's a new thing just discovered is laughable. It's a dark and corrupt organization and sadly it's duped many.
In the UK, when the first-born son would inherit the stately home and all its land, the second son would join the army, as an officer, obviously, and the third son would become a vicar.
That was quite a good ploy as all those jobs effectively had free accommodation, a salary and a pension.
'While speaking out against allowing homosexuals into seminaries to train for the priesthood, the 87-year-old pontiff said in the May 20 meeting there was already too much frociaggine in some seminaries, an offensive Italian slur that translates to “faggotry.”
The bishops should “get all the faggots [checche] out of seminary, even those who are only semi-oriented,” the pope reportedly added.'
Pretty sure we all know the pope is a deepstate wacko no matter what he says. He has condoned the rape of little boys his whole career. Therefore he has torn up his humanity card and all bets are off. God will be his judge.

Almost as if, the modern church is anti life?

When the bible clearly states "forbid not to marry". They simply don't care what the bible says as long as they can control people.
Dude's been waffling pretty hard on his stance.
Pot calling the kettle black. 🙄
No kidding. I got a laugh at first as I thought "faggotry" all this time was one of those "online words" from 2000's.

The Pope is a piece of work....
Sorry, I’m not gonna like him, even if he did say a based thing this one time.
Though iI think he’s on the right path to getting some of his flock back.
