Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Interesting anecdote about bee propolis - It might cause your arms and legs to grow longer!
TRUE STORY from the 1970s: My brother, always a sickly child and young man, was an asthmatic with terrible allergies. When my brother was in high school, our new neighbor's daughter who also had asthma, had just become a nurse and began working for an Indian doctor who specialized in asthma. She said the doctor helped her with her asthma and she encouraged my brother to go see the doctor, too. He did. The doc put my brother on a new non-FDA approved medication and took him off 5 other medications. He also mandated a hypoglycemic high protein/low carb diet, which together, improved my brother greatly, allowing him to finish out high school with not too many days missed.
As a kid who was always at the doctor and getting measured, my brother knew his height well. He was 5ft 10" at age 18. My brother continued to see this doctor and by age 22 , he had reached 5ft 11". That spring he was having some related allergies and the doctor recommended he take fresh bee propolis from a local bee colony. He did. I don't remember how long or how much he took, but he observed that a number of weeks later, his dress pants and dress shirt sleeves were too short on a favorite outfit. He thought he shrunk them in the dryer and was annoyed. A number of weeks later, it occurred to him that in general, all his pants and long-sleeved shirts were too short. He ended up measuring himself and he was 6ft 1/2". He didn't realize it was the propolis until it happened a second time.
6 years later at age 28, he again used propolis for a few months during allergy season and grew again, topping out at 6ft 2". He absolutely attributes this to the propolis as nothing else had changed.
Worth remembering: You should keep the propolis in a glass jar or freezer safe container and keep it in the freezer for longevity. The propolis should be from a local hive so that it is made from pollens of plants in your city which will help you become less allergic to your local environment.
Give it a try and see if it will help you in the same way!
