Not long ago, simple meditation (direct communion with God) was an "occult" practice, because it cut in on the church's business by keeping it hidden from you so you'd keep showing up in hopes you'd get answers... but since they're greedy bastards hell bent on control, they'd never teach you how to meditate and quiet your mind so you can communicate with God directly. Anyone who thinks meditation is "bad" is, and I quote, "a fucking retard".
There is certainly such a thing as "magick", distinct from the magic, associated with stagecraft and slight of hand. The sort of bullshit that the assholes practice like spirit cooking, torture, sacrifice etc. That's dark, heavy, soul shattering stuff that you SHOULD be very cautious about. I see no harm in researching it if you have a solid connection to God and you're not stupid...as an adult of course, so you can understand what goes on to not be naive. I wouldn't even want anyone under 21 screwing around with a ouija board. If you aren't aware of what is going on, you'll be blinded to what your kids could potentially get mixed up in.
Clothe yourself in the full armor of God and use what He gave you between your ears. If you think that reading, hearing or discussing anything labelled "occult" is somehow going to take you out from under God's protection and flip you over to the dark side, I'd say you've got some work to do. Pray and ask God to help.
I can tell you have achieved some level of enlightenment through this work, and seem to be cautious as you should but I’ll give a little advice anyways. Stay in the light, do not entertain even gray types of thinking, remain a pure vessel of light and the dark will be less willing to attack you. Be careful who you discuss certain topics with, a high percentage of people will not be receptive of what you’re discussing and immediately reject you, even here it’s not really a topic that people can accept to study, much less practice. If it does not contradict your religious beliefs then you should have no problem practically applying what you gain from this path, but be warned it is littered with corpses that came before you and it is as treacherous as everyone makes it out to be, so while your head is in the clouds make sure to have two feet firmly planted in reality and stay purpose driven and goal oriented, also it’s a good idea to take stock along the way, writing a journal is the most common way to keep yourself on track to make sure you’re not slipping into something you can’t slip out of. You talked of pride being a sin, the real downfall of a practitioner of esoteric mysticism Is the “ego” which is pretty much a nice way of saying Psychosis.

Meditation to lower stress is a poor man's replacement for prayer and enjoying relaxing activities, which are things God created for us to enjoy with grateful hearts.
Intentionality and manifestation are trash tier substitutes for bringing our requests before God. Everyone who has believed in Jesus Christ has confident access to the throne of God (Ephesians 3:12).
