- SSRI antidepressants could cause 'life-changing' sexual problems experts say
- 1 in 8 people were prescribed antidepressants in the past year according to stats
- But they can cause serious side effects like libido drop and numb groin areas
- Many report they no longer experience sexual or romantic attraction at all
Some patients claim the effects have been more persistent and have continued, or even worsened, years after they stopped taking the drugs. Some have had problems for decades.
The symptoms they describe are strikingly similar. Genital numbness – a total lack of sensation around the groin – and for men, erectile dysfunction. Both men and women experience a condition known as anorgasmia – a difficulty in reaching orgasm, and if they do climax, it is weak or without pleasure. As one woman put it: 'It's like a sneeze.'
Many report they no longer experience sexual or romantic attraction at all, and have been left with an emotional numbness. Most have seen relationships collapse as a result, while others have missed out on the chance to have children. Some have never experienced pleasure during sex – called anhedonia – and worry they never will.
Significantly, all have found their symptoms repeatedly dismissed by medical professionals, who insist they are linked to their underlying depression and not the pills.

"End the family" is the goal. This is a feature, not a bug.
This is true. I know from personal experience. Took one of these drugs for a few months. Not only did it not help with depression, it ruined my libido. Fortunately, I had sense enough to realize they were harming me and I got off of them pretty quick so the damage was temporary. Foe depression, take Vitamin D and Magnesium. It has changed my life.

Question. Does being on an anti-depressant (SSRI) block the proper functioning of the pineal gland?
Answer. Intentionally trying to mimmic the cannabinol activation techniques of CBD/THC at the expense of toxins being injected into your body that obfuscate your pineal gland's effectiveness.
Speaking from my personal experiences as a medical student and subsequently a full fledged licensed medical practitioner I totally agree with your comment.
Now as a former peon of the medical industrial complex I consider it an insult, a disgrace and a liability to humanity if I am called a “Doctor of Medicine”.
I have created medically oriented posts and my personal professional experience (rant) is embedded in the post below:

I think the "stomach is the second brain" discussion has merit. I have a degree in psychology and after losing my stomach due to cancer I question way more then my already "question everything" personality 😆 I didn't lose my brain yet numerous things psychology states is relevant to my brain now cease to exist or barely exist.
Did you go cold turkey off them or slowly?
No, I had to wean myself off slowly, but I did it faster than recommended and at the protest of my Dr. I'm so glad I did.
Thank you for this info.
It's perfect pharma marketing. Antidepressants sell millions in boner pills.
Yea the VA put me on these and I went legit insane coming off them for a bit. Super dangerous drugs.
Big pharma packages itself as the answer to every malady. It previously marketed just to the doctors who wrote the prescriptions. Now the ads are directed to the end user who is supposed to tell their doctor what they want. Meanwhile how many cures can be attributed to big pharma? Very few because they don't want cures. They want people coming back again and again, like addicts that need a fix every day.
We need a total paradigm shift in medicine where the money is in the cures, not the treatments. No doubt there are cures sitting on shelves because their patent is gone. Ivermectin, Fenbendazole, and others should be investigated as cures along with other off patent meds. More importantly, we need to eradicate any diseases we can and incentivize researchers to spend their time targeting cures not novel concoctions simply because they can be patented.
I took these fuckers for a number of years but stopped, my love life was FUBAR until I found out about Nettle leaf extract.
The common nettle was banned in medieval seminaries as it got the trainee monks so horny that they could not concentrate on their studies, its the honeymoon plant.
As for the medical profession, as a christian i know I must forgive them but as a veteran I want to make them do a dog impression. Love to you all.
I wonder if this is why so many women ain't interested in sex.....and we're just not aware because unless we're close friends who would admit to SSRIs consumption?
