What people really seem to have a hard time understanding is that he did, indeed, lie. He knew better at them time. Don't buy the " hindsight 20/20 " excuse.
Hindsight 20/20 excuse can only work if you believe they have the integrity to admit being wrong.
Fauci on the other hand disproved that early on.
They all did.
They couldn't even be assed to tell people to wear P100 cartridges on a full faced respirator, which would have at least been closer to the truth than "lol just wear any cloth mask because viruses clearly aren't smaller than grains of sand!"
i think the truth revelation process goes through a process of ratcheting back the lie, the lie changes to accommodate the new truth but maintain as much of the narrative as possible. through this process they tend to admit certain part of their lie were wrong. That's how i see it anyway.
