US government will ban Americans from air travel effective May 2025 unless they have federalized 'Real ID' driver's license
The long-awaited deadline is finally approaching on May 7 and it will disqualify many from boarding commercial airplanes, whether domestic or international flights.
Independent journalist Patrick Webb reports that the US government plans to launch its heavily criticized federal ID program, called Real ID, for domestic air travel on May 7, 2025.

My license expired during the plandemic. My choices were update online for free but says NOT VALID FOR REAL ID PURPOSES or go to the DMV with an appt, plus you had to wear mask and bring proof of jabberfication to get the REAL ID.
Yeah, mail me the one I can still buy booze with and I'll just keep using my passport for air travel.
I just renewed my DL a few days ago, WITHOUT the real ID option. I quit flying when TSA became such a mess, and they started singling out Grandma for enhanced scrutinization while letting Achmed on through so as not to hurt his feelings. Up until 2020, my conditions for flying again were the privatization of TSA and they would have to start profiling (it works!), but then the world turned upside down. Now, between all the pilots being required to take mRNA vaccines, and the new diversity hire pilots, I'll never trust the airlines and the FAA again.
Driving is a much better option anyways - there's more to see and do, especially if you get the hell off the interstate highways.
@Strelnieks Are you being sarcastic about jabberfication? Well played then! You had me going to NCDOT and there is no jabberfication requirement. KEK
Happened to me too. I do not need a "gold star" on my license. I do not trust anything our government big and small try to push on us.
