I personally think that would be the ultimate slap in the face to the American people and show, without a shadow of a doubt, how corrupt our two-tiered justice system really is. The entire world just watched an innocent man get found guilty of made up crimes. Now the entire world will watch a guilty man, with beyond damning evidence that they have literally seen with their own eyes, get found innocent. Heads would spin. It would be another HUGE wake up for normies. It would literally show everyone the special pleading fallacy our government and justice system operates on.

Why can't it be both
It can be both, and it probably will be both. The primary goal, however, is to legally introduce evidence showing Hunter's pedophilia, the FBI role in covering up the laptop, and the DOJ complicity. Either a "not guilty" verdict or a pardon would certainly be a bonus for demonstrating the double standard.
I will be very surprised if they introduce Hunter's sick stuff into record and announce it on MSM
The laptop has been entered into the record and the jury has seen at least some photos and messages. Apparently, Dr. Jill walked out then. The MSM will cover it the way they always do, deceptively.
