No disrespect intended to the brave heroes of Normandy, but the men who signed the Declaration of Independence were the greatest Americans. The signers freely chose to risk their lives and their family's lives signing that document. The Normandy soldiers did not have a free choice and the lives of their families did not hang in the balance if they failed (the first atomic bomb would become available the next summer in 1945).
The soldiers that stormed the beaches of Normandy also had the benefit of the most powerful invasion force to that point in history and that action only happened because our military leadership believed they had sufficient power and surprise to succeed. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence did not have a superior force to their opponents.
excuse me, but those Marines that fought in the pacific had it worse than the D-Day soldiers. they might just have been braver. and that said, I still have the utmost respect for the men that landed at normandy. my uncle, who died on the rhine almost a year later. thanks patton, for wasting his and his fellow unit members lives.

Trump didn't even go to Flanders fields a few years back because it was raining and he called the veterans losers. He is a draft dodger because "muh bone spurs"
This is a lot better than how Sleepy Joe dishonored our heroes today. 17th upvote.

Same with my father… He passed in 2008… Miss his solid Moral and Ethical approach to things… That entire generation would be sickened
