The US leads the planet in countries with the most prisoners (https://www.statista.com/statistics/262961/countries-with-the-most-prisoners/) and incarceration rate (https://www.prisonpolicy.org/global/appendix_countries_2021.html). Right now we seem to have issues with the corrupt people at the top NOT getting incarcerated, and we can't find a sheriff that wants to put them in jail and a prosecutor & justice system that isn't corrupted as well. I stand with sheriff Joe.
Focus on helping us with cleanup. Some of us have lost a loved one due to the "justice system" arresting them for a "weed" issue, glad you had a chance to get through your ordeal.

With great FREEDOM comes great RESPONSIBILITY.
Even with Americas restricted Freedom , promoted by the diminishment of responsibility , we can and are bringing back equality under the law. You should thank the Alcohol industry for the "weed" issue , but crime & enforcement are unpleasant at best even for crimes you disagree with.
It's not mere "disagreement"; casual recreational drug use & possession are literally victimless crimes, and so long as nobody is harmed in any way, what's the problem?
I definitely don't support full-blown legalization, as that's already been tried in a few states and has apparently gone worse than anyone could have imagined. I'm not for repeating mistakes.
But how can you honestly argue that a teenage kid smoking a joint with friends or even a working class average American deserves to get locked up for having some weed or even coke?
Let's be clear; I'm NOT referring to actual junkies / addicts who steal to support their habit, and obviously the cartels need to be sent to mass graves.

But very casual & innocent use / possession?
What's the problem?
Did you support the prohibition of alcohol too?
Nice to demonstrate how much your drug use has affected your reading comprehension:
